Rules for Amateur Author Submissions

CURRENTLY CLOSED; LOOK FOR REOPENING NOVEMBER 2003

If you would like to be considered for a spot on the Outstanding Author Dedication page, please send a sample of your writing, fanfiction or original, to liannesentar@yahoo.com with the heading AUTHOR APPLICATION. Please include your name and e-mail with your writing piece. If two or more authors would like to make a joint submission (such as sending in a co-written fic), the same rules apply, although the format of your dedication, should you receive one, will be slightly different. Also, please note:

1.) No submissions that require a rating higher than PG-13 (such as those that focus on shounen ai/shoujo ai, deserve a rating of R or NC-17, hentai, very graphic or gory stuff, etc.) will be considered. If your story wins a dedication and you have other writing that you would like mentioned that requires a stricter rating, we'll talk.

2.) PLEASE try to send something relatively short. A short sample of a longer story is fine. Please don't send me 300 pages of text, because I have a lot of submissions to go through and I spend far too much time on the computer as it is. ^_^;

3.) If you've sent a submission, you will receive a reply whether or not you've been chosen for dedication, but it may take some time. The volume of work I need to do at times can be quite enormous, and I can't promise feedback/comments for the submissions that are not accepted - aka you may just receive a letter saying you were not chosen without a detailed explanation why. Please don't expect a reply any sooner than a few days after you've sent the submission. Replies shouldn't take more than a week or two to get to you.

4.) There will be many authors who will not receive a dedication. If you are one of them, PLEASE DO NOT TAKE THE REJECTION TO HEART. I can only take a handful of authors for the dedications, and time of submission is a factor. Just because you weren't chosen doesn't mean you aren't a good writer.

Please also visit the authors who have already received dedications and send them feedback. If you get your own Dedication, I'm sure you'd want the same. We all would. ^_^
